Institute of Natural Sciences was founded as the same date within Sinop University which was founded in Sinop in accordance with the Law No: 5562 of 17/05/2007 published on the Offical Journal No: 26536 on May 29, 2007.
Our institute continues its graduate education and training activities with 11 departments.

1Previously located within Ondokuz Mayıs University, Graduate School of Natural and Applied Sciences; Fisheries and Processing Technology, Fisheries Basic Sciences and Aquaculture Department master and Ph.D. Graduate Programs, upon the establishment of Sinop University, it was decided to transfer the Sinop University to the Graduate School of Natural and Applied Sciences at the Higher Education General Assembly meeting on 25.09.2014.
2The opening of the Master’s and PhD programs in Mathematics was decided at the General Assembly meetings of Higher Education dated in 14.02.2008 and 04.11.2010 respectively.
3The opening of the Statistics Master Program was decided on 11.06.2009 at the General Assembly of Higher Education.
4The opening of the Biology Master Program was decided on 11.06.2009 at the General Assembly of Higher Education.
5The Department of Mathematics and Science Education was established at the Higher Education General Assembly meeting on 20.02.2014 under the name of Primary Education Science Education. The name of the department was changed to Mathematics and Science Education in the Higher Education Executive Board meeting dated 09.11.2016.
6The opening of the Master of Science Programs of Interdisciplinary Nuclear Energy and Energy Systems, Interdisciplinary Environmental Health, Interdisciplinary Quantum Systems Modeling, and non-thesis Mathematics was decided by the Executive Board of Higher Education in 25.09.2014
7The opening of the Master of Science Program in Chemistry was decided by the Executive Board of Higher Education in 11.04.2018.
